The Northants Disability County Cricket Club Need Your Help

24 Jan, 2020
The Northants Disability County Cricket Club (Steelbacks) need your help!

The Northants Disability Club improves links with disabled cricketers by providing coaching facilities in order for them to play this wonderful sport. The club covers all disabilities from disabled, visually impaired to learning difficulties and mental health.

Cricket is an opportunity for their players to enjoy and participate in inclusive sport. As a team, they have already had many amazing accomplishments, such as training 8 England players, 6 Regional players and World Cup Winners. That’s not all, last season they took victory against Wales, Derby and Essex. One of their favourite highlights of the year was their match against Help for Heroes, where they managed to secure a win!

They are currently looking to raise funds in order to help provide their passionate players in the disability section with a brand new helmet that will provide them with the necessary protection in order for them to continue to play cricket safely.

Alongside this, they are also looking to provide each player with a playing shirt ready for the 2020 and 2021 season. With the spiralling costs of playing equipment and clothing, they would ideally like to purchase the players their match shirts so they do not have to find extra funds which for some of their players is already difficult enough.

They also have extra funds to cover such as the cost of training, travelling around the county in order to participate in the games and hiring facilities. Whilst they do get some funding from the England Cricket Board it still is unfortunately not enough to cover all there costs. This is why they need your help to continue to fund the club and to make sure that the Northants Disability County Cricket Club can still have a prosperous future.

If you would like to show your support for this fantastic local club, please donate through the Northants Disability County Cricket Club GoFundMe page. Thank you for all your support, it is greatly appreciated.
